Our official Woady Yaloak Primary School Facebook page is designed to share/celebrate the work that our students/staff are doing in the classroom/school. We encourage of school community to comment on our posts, however this is not a forum to raise concerns or communicate personal views. In emergencies, for example bush fires, our site is also used to communicate ‘real time’ information to our school community.

Sentral

The Sentral app is how we communicate with our school community from a whole school and campus level (not classroom). It provides 2-way messaging feature to connect directly with teachers and the calendar means you’ll always be up-to-date with key dates and events. Sentral is used to provide important notifications of various events and reminders and can be used to advise of student absence or other information that you may want to communicate to the school. Our parents/carers can also book interviews via Sentral at different times of the year.

ClassDojo

ClassDojo is a school communication platform that teachers, students, and families use every day to build close-knit communities by sharing what’s being learned in the classroom home through photos, videos, and messages. This platform is not used for admin tasks such as absences etc but specifically for sharing learning in the classroom back to home.

Families can expect the following when connected to your child’s classroom ClassDojo account: 

• Sharing of the learning focus at the moment is. This may be done termly or more frequently as needed.
• Showcasing of work - this might be as a whole class or individual examples of what is being done in the classroom. This will generally be once per week. Juniors students will have this completed by the teacher whereas middle and senior students will complete this uploading themselves. 
• Occasional posts about events/reminders
• Posts on the ‘Class Story’ part of the app. This might be about a book that is the weekly focus or a general class learning moment. 
• Sharing of specialist class learning. This will come from their teachers in Japanese, The Arts & Health and Physical Education.
